Event Description

On Saturday, May 11, 2013 Community Advocate & Talk Show Host, Starlett Quarles, in Partnership with West Los Angeles College, will bring Black Angelenos together to discuss how they can be a part of the NEW Mayor’s Agenda for the City of Los Angeles.

HHRTV and Urban Game Changer are Hosting a Booth in LA regarding the Black LA Agenda. WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND

Entitled A Dialogue with Black LA (“DWBLA”), this Civic Engagement Event will be FREE to the pubic and act as a catalyst for a new call to activism that is specifically designed to affect tangible, positive change in LA’s Black Communities.  In order to achieve this lofty and long sought objective, the community itself will have to be more engaged.

Defining the issues that restrain the progress of our community and devising effective strategies to overcome them will require “Community Buy-In.” No longer are the problems plaguing our communities as easily identifiable as Segregation and Institutional Racism.  Nor are the solutions to these problems as simple as the election of one man to the Presidency or the election of a New Mayor.

As a result, DWBLA will be the forum for LA’s Black Community to engage in a discussion around a creation of an Agenda for Black LA.

Join us on May 11, 2013 for A Dialogue with Black LA. For more on DWBLA's Program CLICK HERE.!Urban-Game-Changers/zoom/c1koq/image1ksj

Then ride the old preserved trolley line built in 1894 to the Szechenyi Baths and spend several hours indulging in bathing, sauna, massage and other treatments in imperial surroundings. EPA favors ethanol, imported biofuel diesel

Former German Prime Minister Konrad Adenauer was right:  “In view of the fact that God limited the intelligence of man, it seems unfair that he did not also limit his stupidity.”

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s obtuse favoritism of ethanol or biofuel diesel imports over exports in administering the Renewal Fuel Standard (RFS) is illustrative.

Breast cancer death rates decline

The American Cancer Society reported earlier this month that breast cancer death rates declined almost 40 percent between 1989 and 2015 – averting an estimated 322,600 deaths. The reduction is attributed to screening and early detection by self-exams, mammography and improvements in treatments over the recent decades.

We hear a great deal these days about women and their struggles.

Mogul Harvey Weinstein has brought the issue of sexual abuse and intimidation in the workplace and in Hollywood to the forefront. Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's famous crusade against the "war on women" gave the Democrats a ...
