Event Description

On Saturday, May 11, 2013 Community Advocate & Talk Show Host, Starlett Quarles, in Partnership with West Los Angeles College, will bring Black Angelenos together to discuss how they can be a part of the NEW Mayor’s Agenda for the City of Los Angeles.

HHRTV and Urban Game Changer are Hosting a Booth in LA regarding the Black LA Agenda. WE NEED YOU TO ATTEND

Entitled A Dialogue with Black LA (“DWBLA”), this Civic Engagement Event will be FREE to the pubic and act as a catalyst for a new call to activism that is specifically designed to affect tangible, positive change in LA’s Black Communities.  In order to achieve this lofty and long sought objective, the community itself will have to be more engaged.

Defining the issues that restrain the progress of our community and devising effective strategies to overcome them will require “Community Buy-In.” No longer are the problems plaguing our communities as easily identifiable as Segregation and Institutional Racism.  Nor are the solutions to these problems as simple as the election of one man to the Presidency or the election of a New Mayor.

As a result, DWBLA will be the forum for LA’s Black Community to engage in a discussion around a creation of an Agenda for Black LA.

Join us on May 11, 2013 for A Dialogue with Black LA. For more on DWBLA's Program CLICK HERE.!Urban-Game-Changers/zoom/c1koq/image1ksj

Tax reform, spending cuts needed

It is the spending, stupid.

The Republicans just don’t get it.

There were several reasons why the voters gave Republicans control of the government but one of the big reasons was fiscal responsibility.  Most Americans get one very simple concept.  The nation is spending itself into bankruptcy.

The Republicans ...

Education autism adversity intelligence

Remember Ben Affleck's 2016 thriller "The Accountant?" In it, Mr. Affleck plays an autistic forensic accountant who just so happens to be a lethal hit man as well. (Thank you, Hollywood.)

At one point in the movie, the term “neuro-typicals” is used as a way the autism ...

HEALTH: Reduce diabetes health risks

Diabetes, a group of diseases that result in too much sugar in the blood, takes more lives than breast cancer and AIDS combined – claiming the life of one American every 3 minutes.  It is a leading cause of heart failure, stroke, kidney failure, vision loss, nerve damage ...

Congress: Trust NIH but verify the science

Scientists have ulterior motives and agendas like the rest of us.

Scientists are not infallible.  At one time, scientists believed in witches and the geocentric theory of the universe.  More recently, the federal Food and Drug Administration banned cyclamates as a carcinogen from 1970-1984 based on a flawed ...
